Mr. Renato Berrino Malaccorto, Research Director at Open Data Charter, stressed the importance of open data policies and laws for getting information, especially in fighting corruption and gender inequality. Although the regional open data community is focused on artificial intelligence (AI), each country still prioritizes based on its citizens' needs. Despite challenges, he's optimistic about Cambodia's potential with an open data policy. He sees such a policy as fostering inclusive dialogues, empowering local entrepreneurs, and building stakeholder trust. He urges collaboration to achieve open data goals and applauds Cambodia's progress, hoping more countries will join to make data accessible while protecting people's rights.
