Description

This arbitral award is issued by the Arbitrator Council on the issue between Young Dong 1 Co., Ltd. (employer) and the ​Workers' representatives in resolving collective labor disputes of Young Dong 1 Co., Ltd. (employee). According to the award, 3 points are demanded by the employee side and are yet to be resolved including: 1) the company provide back pay of 50% of wages and 70% of NSSF to women workers who had taken maternity leave; 2) that the company provide $20 for June and July to laid-off workers; 3) and that the company pay NSSF so that workers can get a 70% benefit during maternity leave. The outcome of the arbitral award was that the employer was ordered to pay 50% of wages but not NSSF payments. Issue two was rejected, while the Council declined to consider issue three. This was a non-binding award.
