Performance report on plant protection in 2016 and key tasks for 2017

This report indicates how plant protection went in 2016, and what the plan is for 2017. Some major achievements: The whole industry has well performed the estimation, forecast and prevention of harmful organisms nationwide, which has controlled the generation of harmful organisms and well protected the production in the year 2016. The import and export plant quarantine works well to meet the requirements of plant quarantine in import countries and to ensure safety for domestic agricultural production. The management of pesticides is also tightened and gradually become in order. Activities of trafficking in illegally imported pesticides are also controlled. Control of pesticide residues on some agricultural commodities during production and consumption has been implemented, including rice and pepper. Open market has been implemented effectively, removing technical barriers for many fruits of Vietnam, contributing to increasing export turnover and increasing income for farmers.
