This report Myanmar: Unlocking the Potential is an output of a comprehensive study carried out by ADB’s Economics and Research Department (ERD) under RETA 8343, Subproject 2 of Cluster Research and Development Technical Assistance 0011, which was approved on 26 March 2013. The study was conducted by a team of economists in the Economic Analysis and Operations Support Division led by Cyn-Young Park, Assistant Chief Economist, under the overall guidance of Changyong Rhee, former Chief Economist, and upon his departure, Juzhong Zhuang, Deputy Chief Economist and Officer-in-Charge, ERD. An advisory committee chaired by H.E. Dr. Kan Zaw, Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development (MNPED), guided the study team in the course of the study. A group of international and national experts joined the team and made invaluable contributions in their capacities as advisors and authors of background papers (a list of major contributors to the study and members of the Advisory Committee is provided in the following pages).
