The objectives of this law are to implement the precautionary approach on biosafety; prevent adverse impacts on the conservation of biodiversity and natural resources in Cambodia; ensure effective conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of biological resources; provide a transparent process for making and reviewing decisions on living modified organisms and related activities and operations; and develop biotechnology education while preventing environmental and health hazards associated with the use and release of living modified organisms.
