The law aims to promote the sustainable and effective development of the oil sector to contribute to the economic, social and long-term benefits of the nation. The purpose of this law is to determine the competence and rules of the management of the oil sector and shall apply to all activities in the oil sector in the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Cambodia, including the seabed and the bottom of ocean floor of the Exclusive Economic​ Zone (EEZ) and submarine plateau also other areas in which the Kingdom of Cambodia is entitled Democrats.
