Among different data sources, only Global Witness include information on the area of oil and gas blocks. Hence the area of blocks that were not part of the Global Witness report were retrieved from polygons that were created in the Google Earth.

Most recent data from were taken from 3 reference documents
1) Myanmar EITI Report 2015
2) Global Witness Report (The Shell Starts to Crack?) 2014 and
3) Myanmar Oil and Gas Sector-Wide Impact Assessment 2015
Triangulation was done. Most updated data was used if the data is found in more than one source. "Map showing recent block winners and responses to Global Witness survey" was uploaded onto Google Earth and the polygons were drawn around the blocks to get their geo locations, and to estimate the areas of the blocks. The kmz file was downloaded from Google Earth and then it is uploaded onto Carto to get a Carto map.
